TMR has developed and tested a new design and issued Standard Drawing 1452 (SD1452 Traffic Sign – Hazard Marker Installation Details) to mitigate the risk of sight board sign spearing. The design aims to prevent the sign end from impacting the windscreen. This is achieved by strengthening the post connections to ensure the sign is pulled down with the post on impact.
